VACUUM CLEANER
A few things to consider:
Type
UPRIGHT CLEANERS - Uses suction power plus a rotating brush to pick up dust more effectively; the brush can be switched off for mixed flooring.
CYLINDER CLEANERS - Using suction power alone, are compact and better suited for difficult-to-reach areas and hard flooring.
*Some models are available with motorised ‘turbo’ brushes which can improve dust pick up.
Bagged vs bagless
BAGGED - Dust is collected in a bag which must be replaced when full. A higher motor power (measured in watts) generally means better cleaning.
BAGLESS - No need to change or buy bags. With no bags as a barrier to suction, bagless cleaners can offer better performance.
Filters
Filters remove dust particles, mites and pollen which is particularly helpful to allergy sufferers and pet owners. Some models have washable, lifetime filters which don’t need replacing.
There are three main types of filter systems:
STANDARD - Look for the number of filters; the higher the better.
HEPA(High Efficiency Particle Air) or S-CLASS FILTERS - The best filtration system.
MICRO/MOTO FILTER - Protects the motor against fine dust particles.
