What is Walka?
It is a DVB-H digital TV player which allows you to watch television on the go. This device is portable, slim, light-weight and has a built in signal receiver that lets you receive the DVB-H signal and content in areas where there is DVB-H coverage.

In which countries will the Walka be available?
The Walka will be launched in countries where DStv Mobile is available. You do not have to be a DStv or DStv Mobile subscriber to purchase the Walka; anyone can buy it.

Where do I download the DStv Mobile application?
There is no installation, software or application download that is required to use the device.

What do I need to do to ensure that my Walka is working efficiently?
Ensure that you activate your Walka through MultiChoice customer care
Ensure that your device is fully charged
Ensure that your device is powered ON
Subscribe to one of the available bouquets and view
I am not subscribed to any of the MultiChoice products; can I purchase the Walka only?
Yes. All you need to do is call the MultiChoice call centre or visit the MultiChoice service centre once you have purchased the device to have it activated. The device will not work unless it has been activated.
What happens if my DStv account has been disconnected?
There is no grace period for the DStv Mobile service if the account has not been paid, therefore the service will be disconnected immediately.
Are there any reconnection fees if my service has been disconnected?
If you cancel your DStv Mobile service and want to resubscribe at a later stage, you will not be charged any reconnection fees. There are no reconnection fees even when your DStv account was suspended and reopened.
How much does the Walka subscription cost?
If you are currently a DStv premium subscriber, the service will be provided to you at no extra cost. Packages lower than the DStv Premium or non DStv subscribers will be billed R36.00 per month.
Do I still qualify for a no cost Walka subscription even if I have a free Drifta subscription?
You are only allowed one free DVB-H subscription on your account irrespective of how many hardware you purchase. Any other subsequent hardware that is added to the account will be billed at R36.00 a month per subscription.
What do I need to purchase the Walka?
You will be required to produce a valid SABC TV licence card and an RSA identity document or a Driver’s license as proof of identification so that the TV license can be validated. Should you not have a valid TV licence, you will need to apply or renew one at your nearest SABC centre.
Do I need multiple TV licences when purchasing multiple devices?
You can produce just one valid SABC TV licence if you are purchasing multiple devices.
Why do I need a TV licence to buy a DVB-H/TV enabled device?
This is a regulatory requirement, as DVB-H is a technology that allows you to view TV on your Walka.
